Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

At Little Creators Pre School, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which is designed to support your child's development and learning journey. Our focus on personalised care allows us to nurture each child in a safe and secure environment, fostering their growth through engaging activities tailored to their individual needs. This page will provide you with valuable insights into the importance of the EYFS and how it shapes our approach to early education.

Understanding the EYFS Framework

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is an essential framework that guides early childhood education in the UK. It outlines the crucial areas of learning and development for children from birth to five years old. At Little Creators Pre School, we utilise the EYFS to create a well-rounded educational experience that supports each child's unique progression. Through play-based learning and exploration, children develop skills across seven key areas: Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Communication and Language; Physical Development; Literacy; Mathematics; Understanding the World; and Expressive Arts and Design. Our small class sizes ensure that we can tailor our approach and monitor each child's development closely, allowing us to celebrate their achievements and milestones as they grow.

Tracking Progress and Planning Activities

An integral aspect of the EYFS is the ongoing assessment of children's progress throughout their time at pre-school. At Little Creators, we conduct regular observations and assessments to understand each child's strengths and areas for development. This information is invaluable as it informs our planning of activities that are not only engaging but also promote essential skills and knowledge. By aligning our activities with the EYFS framework, we ensure that children are provided with a rich learning environment that nurtures their curiosity and encourages exploration. Our dedicated staff are committed to providing consistent support, developing meaningful relationships with the children, and ensuring that each child feels valued and understood.

The 'Famly' App

We use an app called 'Famly.' This allows you to have an insight to the things your child gets up to at pre school. With pictures, photos and observations, you can see how they are learning and progressing through play. You can like, comment and add your own observations too!

Only those with your log in can access this information, making it a safe and secure way to access your child's information.
